It is a wonderful time to be alive especially if you have any interest in tools and woodworking. There are so many wonderful brands out there that give you high-quality tools and saws to make your life a lot easier in the workshop.
Although those brands are all good and dandy, they cater mostly to people on a budget. If you want premium quality in your tools, you need to be ready to pay the premium price. And in that case, the name that mostly comes to mind is Jet.
I have been an avid woodworker since a young age and had the good fortune of working with different tools over the years.
When it comes to top-shelf table saws, Jet was always my go-to brand. Although it costs a bit extra, the improved performance it offers is way too good to pass up.
And I want you to experience the same joy as me. That’s where this Jet table saw reviews come in. I have compiled a list of my top five table saws by the brand along with an unbiased review of what you can expect from each of them.
By the end of this article, I’ll tell you which product gets the crowning title of best Jet table saw. So, let’s “Jet” start.
About the Brand
Before I get ahead of myself, let me give you a bit of a background into the brand. Jet is a part of JPW Industries Inc. which is a leader in the metal, woodworking, and material handling industry.
The company specializes in customer-specific product manufacturing.
This brand first came into existence in 1958 through the vision of Leslie P. Sussman. If you are wondering why it is called “Jet,” it is because Sussman was on a Boeing Jet going to Japan from Seattle at the time he thought of it.
During the early years, the brand mostly manufactured chain hoists and trolleys for aircraft. By the seventies, they started producing industrial-grade air tools such as forklifts and paving breakers.
What we know now as Jet took a long time to reach. It was only in the nineties that the brand started dipping its toes in the world of metal and woodworking.
But because of their experience with other industrial tools, they took the DIY world by storm almost instantly.
Top 5 Best Jet Table Saw Reviews
Here are my picks for the top five table saws straight out of Jet’s catalog.
1Jet 708675PK 10″ Deluxe XACTA Saw
What this table saw offers can be summarized in three simple words – “Value for Money.”
When I was first looking for a big upgrade from my rusty old table saw back in my DIY days, this unit caught my attention. And after trying it out, I had absolutely no regrets.
One of the features I liked best about the saw is its cast-iron base. Because of the base, the unit can take a lot of abuse without any complaints. It also gives you better stability and reduces the vibration when cutting.
Simply put, you will not have to put up with any wobbles or jitters when cutting with the table saw.
It comes with a 3HP motor that might not be the most impressive of its factors. Still, when it comes to cutting efficiency, the motor holds up quite well thanks to the upgraded Poly-V belt drive system and 4300 RPM cutting speed.
That, combined with the 50-inch rip fence means you will be able to cut through materials quickly and without compromising the precision in the slightest.
What sets this table saw apart from other sub-2000$ table saw is the tabletop size. You will be hard-pressed to find a comparably priced unit with a bigger cutting area.
So, if you want to work with larger timbers, this one should be an obvious choice.
The unit comes with a modular blade guard to protect the user from any unfortunate accidents. In addition, the anti-kickback pawl in the saw improves the cutting experience and efficiency while making the unit safe to use.
It comes with a 4-inch dust port that can extract sawdust quite effectively to keep your workshop clean. All of these features make it one of the best Jet table saw for beginners

- It offers a great value for the price
- Powerful cutting performance
- Easy to use
- Highly accurate cutting
- Takes a long time to assemble
2 Jet 725000K ProShop II 115V 30″ Rip Cast Wings
In many ways, contractor table saws are better than cabinet saws. Since they are made for professional on-site application, they are often lighter, and sometimes may come at a better price.
During my professional career, I have closely worked with the ProShop II 725000K by Jet, and I had nothing but good experience with it.
This saw comes with a 10-inch carbide-tipped blade and features a cutting speed of 4000 RPM.
The motor is much more powerful than the Deluxe XACTA giving you 14.8 amps of power the moment you turn it on. As an on-site contractor saw, it offers excellent cutting performance and speed.
Similar to the Deluxe XACTA saw, this table saw features a cast-iron top. So, working with large sheets or blocks of timber is hassle-free.
Thanks to the single-belt drive design of the unit, you do not need to worry about vibration during belt transitioning.
The cutting depth offered by the saw is 3-1/8 inches at 90 degrees. Even for bevel cuts at 45 degrees, you can get a decent cutting depth of 2-1/8 inches.
And with the 30-inch rip fence, cutting accuracy is impeccable anytime you use it for a sensitive cutting project.
Similar to other Jet saws, this one too comes with a dust shroud on the blade for efficient dust gathering.
In terms of safety features, you get a low-profile riving knife included with your purchase. Having used this unit for professional purposes, I could not find anything worth complaining about in my Jet ProShop table saw review.
|DIMENSIONS:||60 x 40 x 43|
|POWER SOURCE:||Corded Electric|
- Perfect as an on-site table saw
- Features excellent cutting depth and bevel options
- Efficient dust collection
- Little to no vibration when in use
- Nothing worth noting
3JET 708676PK 10″ Deluxe XACTA Saw
I am a huge fan of the Deluxe XACTA line by Jet. Even though I already had the 708675PK sitting in my workshop, when the upgraded model 708676 came out, I just knew I needed to have that.
And eventually, I did (don’t judge me). Though it shares many similarities with its predecessors, the slight improvements make the unit much more powerful.
The only two issues I had with the older model is its maximum motor power and assembly.
Although assembling this saw is no different than its previous counterpart, the manufacturers did pay attention to the power needs. Compared to the 3 HP motor that came with the 708675PK, this saw features a 5 HP motor.
So, essentially, the unit is much more efficient at cutting through tough timber and other materials.
It still has the Poly-V drive belt system to ensure vibration and noise-free operation. As a result, you will have a pleasing experience in the workshop while you are working on a project.
The unit ships with a 10-inch carbide-tipped blade and has a maximum cutting speed of 4300 RPM. I could cut through 3 inches of thick material with the unit at 90 degrees.
It also has a bevel capacity of 45 degrees at which it has a maximum cutting depth of 2.125 inches.
As expected from Jet, this unit comes with a cast-iron top and lets you attach extension wings if you need an expanded work surface.
The unit has a built-in overload protection system that automatically shuts off the saw when it detects abnormalities in power.
You can still find the 4-inch dust port and blade shroud in the unit that helps in keeping your workshop dust-free. The unit has a quick-release riving knife for protection against kickback.
And the 30-inch rip fence ensures you can cut through anything without compromising in terms of accuracy.
It is a truly premium unit and as far as the best jet table saw for the money goes, this is the best option out there. You will find very few other saws that meet the performance standards of this one.
|DIMENSIONS:||65 x 36 x 38|
- Powerful motor performance
- Excellent cutting depths
- Precise and accurate cutting
- Great value for the money
- Not a huge upgrade from the older model
4JET JPS-10 115V 30″ ProShop Table Saw with Steel Wings
Although there are newer versions of the ProShop line by Jet, namely the ProShop II, the original had certain charms.
This particular table saw is a fan-favorite and many woodworkers, including myself, think of it as the holy grail when it comes to high-quality table saws.
Regardless of whether you are buying this jet table saw for home use or a small shop, you will get a good experience out of it. It produces virtually no vibration or noise.
In fact, to test it out, I placed a glass of water on the table when working, and it was almost still as I was ripping through materials.
One small thing to note with the unit is that it is a bit short in the motor power department. It features only a 1.75 HP motor.
However, it is not the power of the motor that counts but rather how effective it is at a particular task. And thankfully, this table saw gives you enough performance to go through any home projects.
Sure, if you are a professional contractor, it might not be the best choice. But for home use, its power is decent. It also offers bi-directional bevel capacity.
At a 90-degree angle, you get an excellent cutting depth of 3.125 inches while at 45 degrees, it gives you a maximum depth of 2.125 inches.
Your purchase includes a 30-inch fence to ensure your cutting accuracy remains perfect. The unit offers a maximum cutting speed of 3450 which is higher than what you would get with the 725000K. Even with lower horsepower, the motor delivers quite highly in terms of cutting performance.
The table saw comes with a standard 4-inch dust port and shrouded bladed cover to protect your workspace from sawdust. All in all, it is an excellent investment.
You can often find this unit for under 1600 dollars. And considering the performance it delivers, the value it offers is immense.
|DIMENSIONS:||60 x 40 x 43|
|POWER SOURCE:||Corded Electric|
- Comes with onboard storage to keep your small tools
- Reduced kickback
- Extremely low vibration
- Good value for the price
- A bit low on motor power
5Jet 725001K ProShop II 115V 52″ Rip Cast Wings
When picking out the last unit on my top Jet cabinet table saw review, I wanted to go with something special.
It could not be just any unit I have used once or twice. It had to be a saw that I use even to this day regularly. And I was left with only one option, the Jet 725001K ProShop II.
Since it is a ProShop saw, you will find many similarities with the second and fourth products I already covered. But there are some unique features in this unit that make it stand out from the pack.
Sadly, this also means the price of this saw is also a bit higher than the rest you find on this list.
With a motor power of 1.75 HP and a cutting speed of 3450 RPM, this unit is deceptively efficient at cutting through materials.
It offers both directional bevel options and lets you cut through up to 3.125 inches of materials at 90 degrees. At 45, the most it can cover is around 2.125 inches which are also pretty decent.
It comes with a 52 inch stamped fence. This fence design is much more efficient at maintaining cutting consistency and this is what sets it apart from the rest.
In all my years of operating this tool, I never made a wrong cut. And considering how frequently I use it, this is certainly impressive.
The unit uses a single belt drive design to eliminate excessive vibration and noise. It also takes safety issues seriously giving you a low-profile riving knife included with your purchase.
In addition, the redesigned guard offers excellent protection and makes it much easier to operate the saw effectively.
|DIMENSIONS:||82 x 40 x 43|
- Easy blade changing system
- Efficient cutting performance
- Low noise and vibration
- Excellent dust collection
- A bit expensive
Features that Make Jet a Worthy Table Saw Brand
Table saws are a staple in any functional workshop. Regardless of the type of table saw you have in your workshop; you need to make sure the performance and quality are impeccable.
Jet as a brand does a very good job of manufacturing saws that meets the users’ every need.
I have used many different saws from different brands out there. And Jet is one of my favorite ones because of some common features they always add with their units.
In the following section, I will discuss some of the features found on Jet table saws that I love and adore.
High-Quality Blade and Blade Changing System
Any Jet table saw you buy will feature a high-quality carbide-tipped blade. The blade is sharp and can rip through any materials quite efficiently.
It might not seem like a big deal, but considering the poor quality of blades that often come with table saws, this is certainly a respectable factor.
Blade Changing System
The blade changing mechanism of all Jet saws is fast and efficient. So, if your blade gets dull over time, or you just want to take it out for sharpening, the table saw will not make things harder for you.
Jet makes all sorts of high-quality table saws. So, whether you are looking for a cabinet saw, or a hybrid saw, you can pick out one from their catalog quite easily.
The fence in a table saw is extremely important as it dictates the accuracy of the machine. With any jet saw, you will get a solid rip fence to ensure your cutting precision. The fences also come in different sizes to suit your specific needs.
A table saw naturally produces a lot of vibrations while in use. However, all of Jet table saws feature a drastically lower vibration level. This makes it much easier to use the unit without worrying about stability.
Sawdust is always an issue for any table saw. Thankfully, all Jet table saws feature a 4-inch dust port to ensure proper dust extraction.
A table saw can be a dangerous tool if you do not know what you are doing. But generally, Jet table saws are extremely safe to operate even for a beginner. They come with excellent riving knives and shrouded blades to ensure you do not put yourself in harm’s way while using them.
Still, if you need some advice on how to manage a table saw, check this out.
The tabletop of the saws that comes from Jet all features a solid cast iron base. Not only does it make the unit more durable but also improves stability when you are working.
All Jet table saws come with a warranty period of at least five years. So even if you get unlucky and end up with a faulty unit, you can get it replaced without any hassle.
Jet is a brand that I can recommend to anyone blindly. But when picking out the perfect option, it might seem a bit confusing. Since all of their table saws are equally good at cutting performance, picking out only one might be a bit overwhelming.
The simplest advice I can give is to consider your specific requirements. If you are a DIY user, then you might not need the portability and performance of the ProShop line.
Those units are meant for professional contractors. In that case, you might get the most bang for your buck from the XACTA line from Jet.
Are Jet and Powermatic the Same Brand?
As I have mentioned before, Jet is owned by JPW Industries Inc. Powermatic is another company that is owned by the incorporated. So even though they are named differently, they are essentially one and the same.
Where are Jet Table Saws Made?
Although Jet is an American brand, their tools are manufactured in a factory in Taiwan.
How much does a Jet table saw weigh?
It varies from one model to another. Typically, the contractor table saws that they make are lighter than the cabinet models. In any case, the table saws weigh more than 200 pounds at the very least.
A workshop is never complete without a functional table saw. Whether you are a small shop DIYer, or a professional contractor who regularly works on larger projects, you need to make sure you have a good table saw ready to get to work.
Jet table saws might not be the most budget-friendly option out there. If you are looking for a sub-1000$ table saw, it might not be the ideal way to go.
However, if you want uncompromising quality, there are very few brands that can compete with it. My take on this Jet table saw reviews should give you enough proof of that.
