Why Is Festool So Expensive? Should You Go Big or Not

Don’t worry; I’ve been pondering on the same question since the day I joined the woodworking business. Finally, I came to the conclusion that Festool is similar to Apple in the power tool industry.

Every one of us knows that Apple is expensive, yet we can’t but accept that their products are incomparable. Festool has the same touch in their power tools. It would come as very expensive, but you cannot compare their service to any other brands.

You may still wonder why is Festool so expensive, but let me tell you something, till you use them, you will never know their full potential. I’ll give a short explanation nevertheless.

The primary reason behind Festool’s seemingly exorbitant price is the backup they provide. The backup is one of a kind. Apart from the backup, when it comes to quality and versatility, the power tools of Festool are a cut above the rest. Once you get a power tool from their arsenal, you are set for years to come.

I have tried out a few track saws of Festool, and none of them had disappointed me in the least. Besides, it not just about the service you get out of the products; there is also the factor of warranty.

Is Festool Worth the Price?

Is Festool Worth the Price?

Honestly, I would be lying if I said no. Festool is worth the money; however, the real question is, ‘is the price worth it for you or not. Let me break it to you; if you are new in the construction or woodworking business, then my answer is no. It won’t be worth the money for you.

See, you don’t go buying the best cordless circular saw just to slice down tables. You first figure out why you are going to spend so much money on a product, and then when you have your answer, you act according to it.

If you are a beginner, I would recommend that you try out Makita SP6000J 6-1/2-Inch Plunge Circular Saw or something from Dewalt or Hitachi. You will save thousands of bucks, and it will be a cheaper way of rising through the curve.

Once you know what you are doing, a Festool power tool can serve you much better in comparison to the products of other brands. And if you are a seasoned professional, you should already know by now that Festool is expensive for a reason.

A New Definition of Warranty

Now, I’m going to tell you exactly why the warranty service of Festool is a game-changer.

First of all, the warranty you get after purchasing Festool power tools is of 3 years, which is more than enough time to get full worth out of these products. Still, if you are a little skeptical and want to know more, you can check out the Q&A from the manufacturer’s website.

The services you get are full repairs without any additional charge. Festool will replace any worn-out parts of your product. The facility also covers batteries and chargers as well.

In any event of theft within the first three years, Festool will replace the stolen products with a small amount of money. Finally, the manufacturers ensure to provide spare parts for at least ten years; however, if for some reason they are unable to, then you will receive a brand-new product free of cost.

Is Festool Overrated?

Some of you may think that Festool is overrated and that you can get the same results from other power tool brands. In that case, I will have to disagree with you.

I have a Dewalt hybrid table saw and a Festool track saw (Both meant for different jobs), and I must admit working with the latter was more satisfying.

Nevertheless, if you are not able to use it to the full extent, then a Festool product will seem overpriced. But, once you get used to it, there is no coming back, my friend.

In a nutshell, if you don’t own Festool, you just don’t own Festool.
